I called this post a “Kitchen Sink Post” because it contains:
::a 2013 vision for Suscipio
::book club announcements
::2 winners of Jesus of Nazareth: The Infancy Narrativesand 1 winner of all three, Jesus of Nazareth: The Infancy Narratives
, Jesus of Nazareth: Holy Week: From the Entrance Into Jerusalem To The Resurrection
, and Jesus of Nazareth: From the Baptism in the Jordan to the Transfiguration drawn from the survey participants who came back here and left a comment.
Thank you for your participation in the book club survey. Your responses were thoughtful and helped me clarify the vision for Suscipio in 2013, not just the book club.
Overwhelmingly you voted to continue the book club and so continue we will. There were some good suggestions made and I will try to implement those this year. One of the suggestions was to have different women lead the discussion weekly. I am ALL for this ladies and hope this will encourage more weekly discussion. Oh yeah, the weekly votes won.
Now for some specifics. From day one, Suscipio has been about us–a lovely group of Catholic women who look different, sound different, live different and yet are so very much alike. This community thrives on the common threads woven throughout the oh so very different lives we lead and I would like to meet more of you through your shared stories. But just throwing a generic net looking for guest posters, is well…rather generic. ”I would love to guest post, but I’m not sure what to write,” is a common email I find sitting in my inbox. I will remedy that.
I have chosen themes for each month of 2013. These themes will be broad enough to encompass each individual woman living her very own life of faith and yet narrow enough to intimately connect us–one to another–within the Body of Christ.
Along with these themes comes a book or Scripture reading to share and discuss as well as Scripture or traditional Catholic prayers to memorize. Can you see it? The thread of our very own Year of Faith twisting and turning its way through each womanly soul that passes through these hallowed pages of Suscipio.
I will post more tomorrow. I am so excited to share this vision with you all! But now, let’s see who won…
Karen, you won one of the books. Contact me with your mailing information so I can get this out to you.
Michelle, you won a copy also. Please contact me using the email icon over on the sidebar.
Ashley, you won all three of Pope Benedict’s Books! Email me with your contact information so I can send these on their way. Congratulations!.
Again, thank you ladies. Thank you for taking the time to answer questions and offer suggestions. Thank you for your daily encouragement here on Suscipio. See you tomorrow with more information on what Suscipio will look like in 2013!

Looking forward to following it. This site has blessed me in 2013… Now to be faithful. I’ve just come from Mass and the Gospel of Mark. The little first and second graders singing “Jesus, Jesus Jesus in the morning Jesus at the noon time Jesus Jesus Jesus when the sun goes down!” Their faith blesses me too ! Have a great day!
Sounds like a wonderful way to proceed. I was thinking the same thing…that I’d like to guest post. I’ve been thinking about the topic of prayer so hopefully that is one of the months
Thanks, Jenny!
