Green…just when the world breathes green, two men, a small band of helpers and cars of spectators converge on our little farm for shearing day….and the fun begins. Shearing day holds as much importance in the fun department for my children as Christmas. It is a chance to spend the day with their auntie and uncle, friends who were made family years before we the children were even born, and each year new friends met over swirling alpaca fleece and a barbecue lunch.
Moments of Grace…old friends, new friends, family, good food and green, a farm blanketed in green.
The beginning of the week starts in a flurry of things to do, places to go and people to see. The middle of the week is the push to get to the end of the week and the end of the week promises at least some respite. It’s in this end, this temporary intermission between the week and the weekend that we can pause, if only for moment and appreciate the moments of grace the week brought us.
