All I did was make a call…and she arrived that very same night. My girls wanted to go Easter dress and shoe shopping. Although this was really more of a want than need, their aunt understood a teen girls mind…and there she was. I am wise enough to know a new baby and Easter shopping with four daughters does not mix well.
All I did was make a call…and she arrived that very same day. I was 38 weeks pregnant with what we now know was a whopping big boy. I called their Godmother to let her know I was headed to the doctor, suitcase in hand, just in case. And when “just in case” turned out to be “let’s have a baby today!” She was there, all day long. She led the children in prayer for momma and new baby. She fed them good food and just sat and listened to them as they talked.
All I did was make a call…and friends showed up. Six days after we welcomed our new son, he was baptized, and friends showed up with only two days notice. They showed up to say how good I looked, how sweet he looked, and to pray. They showed up in force to welcome my little boy into the family of faith.
These are my Moments of Grace. Gifts from God the Father, all initiated by a single, short, phone call.
